The Voice of the Youth for Peace and Orderliness (VYPO) is an association which aspires to promote peace and orderliness in the Bangsamoro Homeland through its Islamic, academic and socio-civic programs. It was established last June, 2005 by the former active student leaders belonging to Special Science Class-IV batch 2006 of Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy (SKIA), Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao. Various programs of SKIA and seminars and training outside the campus had given the said student leaders much awareness of the present situations in the country which made them decide to establish this association.

With the help and guidance of Allah S.W.T., through the efforts of its active organizers and supporters, the said association has reached some prestigious universities like Mindanao State University-Main Campus and Notre Dame University. VYPO’s enriching and inspiring activities have revitalized and kindled the spirits as leaders of some students in the said universities coming from different places. By this, VYPO has found an opportunity for it to extend its various projects to the places where its new members are living like Davao, Lanao, Palawan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Zamboanga areas.

This organization, which now composed of enthused and empowered Moro youth leaders from different Moro areas, is committed to voice out and act for the enlightenment, empowerment and development of the Bangsamoro people in the fields of religion, education, socio-civic actions and leadership in order to achieve the true face of PEACE AND ORDERLINESS in the Bangsamoro homeland.

Rationale of the Program

 “Is ISLAM in reality a religion of PEACE? Does it really care for the promotion of harmonious coexistence among people amidst their diversity in terms of culture, customs, traditions, beliefs and values? Does it really love to have a world where justice, equality, unity and harmony are prevalent? If these are true with ISLAM, then why Muslims can not live without groaning for their Jihad? Why do wars, violence and terrorism exist in the places where there are Muslims? Are these cruel things in actual fact not being taught by their Holy Qur’an in their Masjids?”

          Our most beloved religion ISLAM is generally equated with various cruel and inhuman acts. These are only few questions which run over the minds of many non-Muslims.  It might be because of their ignorance of the grandeur teachings of ISLAM, because of the misconceptions implanted to their minds by some prejudicial media or because of the wrong-doings of the Moros who themselves are lack of Islamic faith and practice.

With this poignant scenario, we need a group of people who will dare to take significant actions. The Bangsamoro homeland is in need of individuals who will persuade the Moro people to take ISLAM completely as a way of life and to exterminate misconceptions on it. Thus, the Voice of the Youth for Peace and Orderliness will conduct its BACK-TO-BACK SUMMER PROGRAM-“First VYPO Tasa-ud: A Gift-Giving Program” along with “Seminar-Workshop on Promoting the Islamic Concept of Peace in the Bangsamoro Homeland” on May 18 to 29, 2009 for selected Madrasah and Darul-Aytam in the areas of Cotabato, Davao, Lanao, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Zamboanga.
